The Friends of Mockett's Wood were winners in a local Pride of Place Award scheme which was introduced last year as part of the Cleaner Thanet Campaign to recognise people in the public, private or voluntary sector who have made improvements to their immediate environment.
As well as helping to regenerate this small woodland the Friends have enlisted the help of young people in this enterprise.
The award of £500 will be used for improving access to the wood.
